Hi, everyone! My name is Malea Hardeman, and I have always cherished the beauty of nature and the loving bond between a child and her parents. I’ve had a strong draw to the event of brining a life into the world since I was nine. I attended my first birth in 2012 and I’ve been hooked ever since. After high school I attended the University of Hartford as a pre-med student; soon after, I discovered doulas and midwifery and decided to make a life change. In 2015 I received a scholarship to follow my dreams and study midwifery. I am passionate about female empowerment and assisting in the building of strong families. Ultimately, I plan on becoming a midwife and opening by own birth center and nonprofit with the goal of positively impacting as many families as I can.
I have too many interests to list, and I’m always up for learning and experiencing new things; however, the most important thing on my list is being able to help support, inform, and empower others on the journey through pregnancy and childbirth. I believe that every woman should have the birth that she desires and that the birth of every child is unique. Birth can and should be one of the happiest events in our lives and a special time for teamwork and bonding between partners. I would be honored to lend a hand at this exciting time in your life and congratulations—you’re having a baby!!
